Hi, I’m Osman — the person behind SerialROI.
I’ve been working in IT infrastructure and network administration for over eight years. During that time I’ve managed everything from small office LANs to multi-site enterprise environments — configuring routers, setting up VLANs, troubleshooting DHCP conflicts, and dealing with the everyday headaches that come with keeping a network healthy and secure.
I built SerialROI out of a genuine frustration. Every time I needed to quickly convert a MAC address to an IPv6 link-local address or look up a device’s IP on the fly, the tools I found online were either full of ads, painfully slow, or just plain wrong. So I built my own — clean, fast, and correct.
Today SerialROI hosts a growing set of free networking utilities used by IT admins, students, and home lab enthusiasts around the world. Security & Privacy
All tools run client-side wherever possible. No MAC addresses, IP addresses, or passwords you enter are ever sent to or stored on my servers. I verify this with my own traffic analysis.
Why I Built These Tools
When you work in networking long enough, you develop a mental list of “tasks I do constantly that should take five seconds.” Converting a MAC address to its EUI-64 IPv6 link-local address is one of them. Checking your public IP geolocation is another. Generating a secure random password without installing an app — same story.
Most existing sites that offer these utilities are cluttered with misleading ads, require you to sign up, or produce results that are simply mathematically wrong. I tested several MAC-to-IPv6 converters in 2024 and found that a surprising number of them flip the Universal/Local bit incorrectly in the EUI-64 calculation — which means the IPv6 address they generate is wrong.
SerialROI exists to fix that. Every result this site produces is one I have personally verified against RFC 4291 (IPv6 addressing architecture) and tested against real hardware. If you ever find an error, please tell me — I take accuracy seriously.
